QCOSS continues to build a high-performing, inclusive culture where staff feel valued and empowered to make an impact. The key focus in 2024-25 included rolling out our Internal Communications Strategy, boosting staff and member engagement, embedding inclusivity in planning, and strengthening training and internal capability. 

Highlights:

Rolled out QCOSS Internal Communications Strategy: Established in December 2023 and implemented throughout 2024–25, this strategy strengthened communication across QCOSS, supporting a positive, high-performing culture and an engaged workforce.  

Key achievements included: 

  • delivering regular updates to keep staff informed and celebrate achievements, using platforms such as SharePoint, Outlook, and Dynamics CRM to improve visibility of organisational information 
     

  • creating opportunities for staff input through Have Your Say engagement activities reinforcing organisational values through induction programs and office displays 
     

  • introducing a practice of inviting a member to present at each monthly QCOSS all-staff meeting, strengthening connections across QCOSS teams.

  • Facilitated inclusive business planning: Developed a whole-of-organisation business planning workshop with all staff and the CEO to shape priorities for 2025–26. 

 

  • Training and professional development: Established a whole-of-organisation training plan, incorporating goal setting, First Nations training, and trauma-informed practice. 

 

  • Strengthen internal capability: Supported staff development in project management, cultural understanding, and goal setting to strengthen organisational capacity.
